
Ripe Plantains El Sol
Air-Fried Ripe Plantain El Sol with Melted Cheese

🥘 Ingredients:
(Serves 4)
• 2 ripe plantains El Sol (yellow with black spots, firm but sweet)
• 120 g fresh salted cheese or mozzarella (sliced or shredded)
• 1 tablespoon melted butter
• Salt or sugar (optional, to taste)
👩🍳 Preparation:
• Roast the plantains
Peel the plantains and slice them half lengthwise, brush both sides with melted butter, preheat the Air fryer to 180 °C (350 °F) for 3 minutes, place the plantains in the basket, leaving space between them, and roast for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through so they caramelize evenly.
• Add the cheesy touch
Remove the plantains and carefully make a shallow cut down the center of each half (do not cut all the way through), insert the cheese strips or shredded cheese into the cut, for extra sweetness, sprinkle with a pinch of sugar; for a bolder contrast, add a touch of salt.
• Melt and serve
Return the plantains to the Air fryer and cook for 3 more minutes at 180 °C (350 °F) until the cheese is melted and bubbly, serve immediately, garnished with fresh herbs or a drizzle of honey for a gourmet presentation

• With mozzarella, you’ll enjoy a creamier, stretchier texture.
• For a dessert twist, add cinnamon and honey before serving.
